L.L.C is pleased to announce its recent award of a significant contract for the construction and upgrading of the potable water network at the Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). This prestigious project, identified as Project No. 2200-214, underscores Al Geemi’s continued commitment to enhancing infrastructure across the UAE.
The Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), located in Taweelah, approximately 50 km from Abu Dhabi city, is set to undergo a major infrastructure enhancement with the construction of a new potable water network. This initiative, known as Project No. 2200-214, aims to significantly improve the region’s water management and infrastructure.
The scope of this project encompasses a range of infrastructure works designed to upgrade and expand the potable water network, ensuring better service and reliability for the KEZAD area.
Area A Scope
1. Demolition Works
Locations: KP 3, KP 4, KP 5, KP 8, Taweelah Power Station (ER-23), Bida Khalifa, Ras Ghannadah Road
Tasks:
- Demolition of existing potable and process water lines
- Removal of valve chambers and replacement of pipes
- Installation of end caps on abandoned water lines
- Transfer of potable and process water pipeline assets to respective storage facilities
- Temporary isolation and shutdowns of operational pipelines
2. Proposed Enabling Works
Locations: KP 3, KP 4, KP 5, KP 8, Taweelah Power Station (ER-23), Bida Khalifa Interface, Ras Ghannadah Road
Tasks:
- Upgrading existing potable water networks
- Interconnecting potable and process water lines
- Installing 2 TRANSCO shelters
- Installing 3 surge vessels at Taweelah Power Station
- Installing new control valves and other pipeline components
- Conducting NDRC works and road crossing duct works
- Protecting existing and proposed utilities
3. TRANSCO Shelter at ER-23
Locations: KP 3, KP 4, KP 5, KP 8, Taweelah Power Station (ER-23), Bida Khalifa Interface, Ras Ghannadah Road
Tasks:
- Earthworks, civil, mechanical, and dewatering works
- Installation of electrical equipment and systems including MDB, DB, UPS, and emergency lighting
- Implementation of fire detection, protection systems, and lighting protection
- Modification of existing power source panels
- Communication systems setup and protection of existing utilities
Area B1 Scope
1. Potable Water Pipeline Enabling Works
Tasks:
- Construction of approximately 4.7 km of DN 1000 DI pipeline and 8 m of DN 600 DI pipeline
- Installation of line valves, washout valves, and air release valves
- Conducting NDRC works at 3 locations
- Installing concrete protection slabs (110 units)
