
Al Geemi Contracting is excited to announce the award of a significant build construction contract for the replacement of 5 Numbers of 33/11 kV Primary Substations in the Eastern Region. This project, awarded by Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC), represents a major milestone for Al Geemi. With a total value exceeding AED 275 Million, it marks the company’s first venture into constructing Main Primary Stations.

The scope of work is divided into two main packages:

- Package 1 involves the design, demolition, and replacement of the 5 existing primary substations. This includes:
- 33/11 kV 20 MVA ONAN Power Transformers
- 33 kV SWGR (GIS or AIS) and 11 kV SWGR (AIS)
- 11 kV Capacitor Banks, Reactors, and 1000 KVA Auxiliary Transformers
- Auxiliary systems like DC Systems, UPS, and SCADA integration.
- Package 2 focuses on the execution of 33 kV, 11 kV, and FO cables in the Eastern Region. It includes:
- FOC splicing joints, installation of underground ducts, and cable diversions.
- Laying of LDPE cable protection, and road crossing ducts construction.
- Asphalt reinstatement and excavation for cable laying.

This award is a direct result of Al Geemi’s strategic vision, leadership under His Excellency Faraj Ali Bin Hamoodah, and the hard work of the management team and MEP department.

The project is already one month ahead of schedule and promises to showcase Al Geemi’s commitment to quality and innovation in the power sector.
